Data recovery from usb and memory cards

As a logical conclusion to the fast development an expansion of memories in the last decade, they have pushed upfront as an alternative for storing data, especially in mobile devices.

These are the reasons

  • Transportability
  • Lack of mechanical parts
  • Simple to use

Data Solutions Laboratory is the first company in this region to start data recovery from damaged media. A majority of people thinks that data recovery from memories is impossible. That is true if the memory chip is destroyed (broken or damaged). But the most probable scenario is that the controller failed, whose primary function is to read and write data into memory. In that case, chances for recovery are around 100%.

memory data recovery

  • USB flash devices can loose data for following reasons:

    • physical damage (eg. broken USB connector)
    • electronic damage
    • firmware corruption
    • human error
    • file corruption by software or OS
    • bad blocks or malfunctioning cells due to excessive writing
    • fire, flood and other natural disasters
  • USB malfunction – what to do?

Flash devices can sustain mechanical shocks and transport much better then other storage devices, but the can be physically damaged. Also, they are prone to logical damages, like data corruption, accidental deletition or virus.

Also, due to long use or too much writing will damage memory cells, and lead to data corruption.

If the USB device has any physical damage, the computer will have a problem recognizing it in most scenarios, or freeze when you plug in the device. To keep data integrity whole to the highest degree, stop using the device as soon as you notice any kind of problem. Do not try DYI options, from our experience data recovery is impossible after that.

  • Monolith devices

Mini and micro devices are a special case, since they don’t have a controller as such, and some of the USB devices also encrypt pages inside memory cells, which are impossible to decrypt when the controller fails. Thanks to our constant need to improve and gather new knowledge, as well as investment in new technologies and equipment, we have expanded the capacitz of our laboratory, so we can recover data dfrom some Mini, MicroSD and other type of cards, as well as monolith USB flash devices.
