THERE ARE DIFFERENT PROCEDURES FOR:
Data Solutions will not charge its services or recovery attempt costs if:
- Data Solutions Laboratory cannot successfully complete the job;
- Client did not receive the data that he needed;
- Client is not satisfied with data integrity;
- Recovery job is not done within specified timeframe.
The core of our business is to access and retrieve the valuable and usually confidential data within particular time frame.
Through the set of adequate procedures and team work, our Laboratory keeps boosting the success rates to our customers’ satisfaction.
Our company treats your data fully in line with the Data Protection and Personal Privacy Policies.
Reception of your devices or media can be done by sending your media to our reception office in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro or by organized free courier service.
Upon reception, a device or media is assigned with a reference number uniquely identifying such media i.e. client in further data recovery process.
In this Application Form, you can also specify the most important data that needs to be recovered. In this way, the emphasis is put on required data and their recovery will be the priority of our lab technicians.
The Application Form also contains all details required for full description of the future job (special marks, type of encryption, type of file systems, types of required databases and the like). You may also specify a timeframe for data recovery. In case you need urgent data recovery or data destruction, this should be specified in the Application Form.
If you cannot deliver your device or media in person, but you send it via courier or courier service, please follow the guidelines on transportation and packaging.
If diagnosis necessitates opening the drive chamber, your consent to violate chamber integrity is needed. To underline, our Laboratory never applies violent data recovery methods.
It is important to strictly follow the procedure for reception of new media in order to ensure data safety and professional data recovery diagnosis and evaluation.
Data Solutions Laboratory diagnoses and evaluates chances of data recovery, based on information you specified on disk delivery. The resulting Data Recovery Diagnosis & Evaluation Form details diagnosis and failure listing as well as data recovery time frame and price range.Lab technician working on your case will make comments and specify required parts for successful data recovery in order to get you a clear picture of the pending job.
Together with a Data Recovery Diagnosis and Evaluation Form you will also receive a Data Recovery Service Contract. By electronically filling out this Contract, you agree to proceed with service specified in the Contract.
Once we get the electronically signed and completed contract, our laboratory begins with the data recovery process.
MAKING DATA COPY
Copying of data is performed in highly secured conditions in our Laboratory. Only our lab technicians, who are specially trained for that task, have access to the data.The process of making a data copy is a complex and especially today when media capacity is very high, a time-consuming task. At the same time, this is the most demanding process for any kind of media, which means that the possibility of media failure is the highest in this stage
That is the reason we first make a clone of each/every media we recover (media cloning is the process of copying every sector from one media to another) and than we access the logical structure of the media (data) using special applications. This applications are aiming to reconstruct partition tables, directory structures, files or to find digital evidences important for judicial proceedings.
The success of data copying directly depends on a precise and correct diagnosis and evaluation as well as on all the operations performed in the process of data recovery. Therefore values obtained while testing the media in the diagnosis and evaluation process are applied during the copying process.
These values primarily refer to damaged sectors, head failures or damaged media, service area failures and, at the end, logical structure damages.
Thanks to years of experience, our Laboratory is using every opportunity to maximize the amount of data which is copied.
VERIFICATION OF RECOVERED DATA
Copied data are being verified by our lab technicians. They make list of the recovered data that can be checked using specific program (only the list not data itself).
After successful data verification, the result is being presented to client and he can verify the copied material in person.
In the end, when client has verified the recovered data, he pays according to sent invoice and takes his data.
DELIVERY OF THE RECOVERED DATA AND MEDIA
Data can be delivered on DVD media (up to 20GB) free of charge or on some other media.
Data Solutions Laboratory provides its client external hard drives at prices much lower compared to retail prices. In case client has his own media for copying the data, it needs to be empty and same or bigger capacity comparing the recovery media.
EMERGENCY DATA RECOVERY PROCESS
The primary difference between Emergency data recovery procedure and the standard one is in the start of the process. Emergency recovery starts ASAP, in most cases right upon media reception.
We differ two kinds of the procedure ie. two processes:
- Prioritized data recovery
- Emergency data recovery 24/7
Prioritized data recovery process is carried out upon the recipt during working hours. The client becomes priority to Data SOlutions Laboratory in every stage/step of standard procedure. Still, the procedure stays standard (diagnosis-agreement-verification-delevery).
The second procedure is Emergency data recovery, which starts upon the reception in Data Solutions Laboratory and runs/lasts until the work is done regardless of the working hours. The client is informed of his data recovery status by phone until the process is finished.
This type of service is intended for big production companies whose work depends on the lost data, but also for client who have time limitation in terms of data recovery.
This service is available to our clients 24/7/365.
Emergency data recovery procedure is paid additionally regardless of success according to the price list.
RAID DATA RECOVERY
RAID arrays are caracterized by complex data recovery process, as well as the variaty of the possible combinations. There are plenty of possible causes for RAID failure, as well as actions that controler and admin/user would undertake before they realize that data access is not possible.
That is exactly the reason why diagnosis, including the evaluation, lasts more than in standard procedure.
The procedure is to clone every accessible drive before any RAID reconstruction attempt. Every reconstruction attempt, as well as inteventions on the sectors, are done exclusively on the cloned media. Data Solutions Laboratory garantees that won’t make any writting or changing on the sectors of the client drives.
When the cloning is done, analysis of the case can start.
There are two possible scenarios:
- possible reconstruction without data recovery from damaged/failed drives
- it is necessary to do data recovery from failed drive(s)
In case it is possible to reconstruct RAID only with fully working media, recovery process will be charged according to our price list. If the recovery from the failed drives is needed, the price will be increased in accordance with present malfunctions.
Data Solutions Laboratory will always act in client’s best interest which means that the attempts of RAID reconstruction without previous data recovery from damaged media won’t be charged to the client.
MOBILE DATA RECOVERY
Mobile data recovery procedure differs from other data recovery procedures.
At media reception client is being introduced to entire procedure. Signing the media reception form client confirms his accordance with the procedure.
Standard smart phone users have restricted access to memory and device system primarily as a protection against misuse. Because of that, it is necessary to enable administrator access to the device (root). This kind of OS modification leads to varranty void at all manufacturers. There is also a possibility of device failure during the process but it’s below 1%. This procedure is charged regardless of data recovery success according to the Price list.
The next step is device memory cloning. That finished, client can get his device back and our technicians continue with recovery process. These two steps are the reason mobile data recovery procedure lasts longer than the others.
